The Dark Elf player's Code

PREAMBULE

Dark Elf is a game. A game played for amusement, relaxation and pleasure. A game that helps to develop players' creativity, intelligence and communication and cooperation skills. A game played for fun. Those who intentionally spoil the game for others are not welcome among us. Let their wretched souls be devoured by foul demons and beasts.

Article 1
a) Players are obliged to refrain from using any vulgarities and illiberalities when choosing names for their overlords, heroes, and alliances and during any communication within the game.
b) It is forbidden to intentionally mimic other overlords' nicks in order to mislead fellow players.

Article 2
Players are not allowed to have more than one overlord in a league. Multiple registering in one league – a.k.a. multiplaying – is strictly forbidden.

Article 3
Players can conclude two basic types of treaties:
a) System treaties between lands offered by the game in the Treaties menu.
b) Game treaties between players (local) or alliances (alliance) arranged individually through in-game communication.

Article 4
A violation of a System treaty is not considered illegal.

Article 5
The terms of a Game treaty must be kept to by both sides. Violators will be punished according to this Code.

Article 6
A Game treaty is sealed only when both sides agree – through in-game communication- on its terms. This rule also applies for any later changes.

Article 7
It is not possible to appeal to any terms which were not included in the treaty.

Article 8
A Game treaty can legally expire in three cases:
a) Its date of expiration has passed.
b) Either side repudiated the treaty according to its own terms.
c) Another situation defined by its terms occurred.

Article 9
In case of a treaty infringement, the aggrieved party is given the right to defend itself.

Article 9a
Players are obliged to meet the conditions of their treaties in a reasonable time. If the treaty itself gives no deadline, the Council of Elders will set it, if asked to.

Article 10
If not agreed otherwise, the expiration or denouncement of a treaty between two alliances does not automatically cancel local treaties between their members.

Article 11
a) Players who join an alliance are not protected by its treaties until the next gameday. However, they are bound by them instantly.
b) Players who leave an alliance are protected and bound by the former alliance's treaties until the next gameday.
c) Players who leave and alliance are not allowed to attack their former allies and vice versa until the next gameday except for plundering attacks.

Article 12
Other cases of unacceptable conduct include:
a) Intentional arranging of mutual exping of heroes between players.
b) Extending the length of an age without reason.
c) Arranged passing of lands to other overlords and arranged conquering of lands by other overlords (not even for DECs) with the exception of reparations.
d) Abusing a granted access to another overlord's account.

Article 13
It is possible to use DECs in the game for:
a) buying service offered by the system
b) paying players and alliances if the service paid for does not infringe this Code.

Article 14
The Council of Elders may impose the following sanctions:
a) a warning
b) a coloured minus in the overlord's profile
c) an enlistment of the overlord on the Black list
d) a ‘branding'
e) a suggestion to ban the overlord from the league
f) in case the overlord is branded or enlisted on the Black list, a suggestion to delete the overlord from the league
g) a suggestion to delete the overlord from the league
h) a suggestion to delete all the player's overlords
Sanctions will be imposed according to the severity and repetition of the offence. The suggested means of punishment will be considered by Lord Pletron or the admins with regard to the Council's recommendation.

Article 15
The Council of Elders will always try to lead the offender to make reparations for what he or she caused by infringing this Code, rather that strictly punishing him.
